Details:

Spear-shaped leaves are dark shiny green; the leaf edges red and serrated.  The stems are minutely hairy. Lilac flowers in spectacular large sprays, spring.  This hebe is found in the eastern side of the South Island of New Zealand, in Marlborough and North Canterbury, in cliffs and rocks.
