A medium shrub with a bushy habit.  Branches have flaky bark.  Large linear dark green and shining leaves.  Occurs naturally in the North and South Islands, frequently grows along rocky stream banks, and gorges. Very hardy and will tolerate dry conditions.

The most floriferous of the olearias. In spring this shrub is smothered in large clusters of white flowers.
